The tunes

The tunes here are traditional, and the printed collections they come from are in the public domain: Francis O’Neill’s Music of Ireland (1903) and Dance Music of Ireland (1907), andRyan’s Mammoth Collection (1883). Each tune page names its book and tune number.

The sheet music and tab are our own transcriptions, licensedCreative Commons Attribution 4.0: you can copy, print, share and adapt them, as long as you credit Fiddler’s Friend. We checked our notes against the ABC transcriptions of O’Neill’s by the folkies project and of Ryan’s by John Chambers and contributors, with thanks, but didn’t copy them.

New transcriptions are marked as not yet checked until someone has compared them with the printed book. Tunes from The Session and the Traditional Tune Archive are never imported: their terms don’t allow it.
